Dr. Alexis Diffley

Veterinarian

Dr. Alexis Diffley, a native of San Diego, California, received her undergraduate degree in Biology/Zoology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Before embarking on a veterinary career, Dr. Diffley gained valuable experience as a zookeeper/animal care specialist for seven years and volunteered at various animal shelters, small zoos, and aquariums throughout Southern and Northern California. In 2018, Dr. Diffley completed an externship in wildlife medicine in South Africa, further enhancing her expertise in animal care.

Dr. Diffley earned a veterinary medical degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts and completed her clinical year at the University of Tennessee. During this time, she began fostering shelter animals and adopted her cat, Willow on her shelter medicine rotation, who has been a beloved companion ever since. Following graduation, Dr. Diffley lived and worked in Las Vegas, Nevada for four years and decided to finally move back to her hometown of San Diego 2 years ago. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, exotic medicine, shelter medicine, and preventative care and client education.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling around the world, engaging in outdoor activities such as kayaking and cycling, indulging in arts and crafts, and spending quality time with family and friends.
