Veterinarian grooming a dogThe Importance of Regular Pet Cleaning and Bathing

Having your pet regularly groomed is important for a number of reasons. This is especially true if you have a long-haired cat or dog. Longer fur can become easily matted and tangled without regular grooming, which can become extremely painful for your pet and eventually require shaving to treat. When you bring your pet in for routine bathing and grooming in our office, you can avoid these issues.

Even if you have a short-haired pet, regular grooming can help maintain the health of your pet's skin and coat. Over time, a lack of grooming can lead to skin problems, such as infections and irritation. Brushing your pet's coat frequently will help to distribute natural oils into your pet's skin for added moisture and improved dermatological health.

Regular nail trims are also very important for your pet’s health.  Overgrown nails prohibit your pet from walking comfortably and can often lead to stress on joints.  Nails can also grow so long that they become embedded into a pet’s paw pad, which is very painful and requires medical treatment.

What to Expect From Grooming Services at Our Animal Hospital

When you trust our animal hospital with grooming services, you can always expect your pet to receive quality, compassionate care. Whether your pet is just here for a quick bath, nail trim, or anal gland expression, or a more extensive treatment, such as a medicated bath, dematting, ear cleaning, or a sanitary clip, our veterinary team will always treat your pet as one of their one.  We also offer mild sedation (given at home before the appointment) for those fur-babies that stress easily. We strive to keep your pet as comfortable and relaxed as possible throughout the grooming appointment, and we'll give you a call as soon as your pet is ready to be picked up.

If you have any questions about our grooming services, you can always give our office a call to find out more.
